IL MARE COME ARTIGIANO

‘Il mare come artigiano‘ è il titolo di un libro scritto da Bruno Munari nel 1995 (Ed. Corraini).
“Tu butti qualcosa in mare, e il mare (dopo un tempo imprecisato e imprecisabile) te lo restituisce lavorato, finito, levigato, lucido o opaco secondo il materiale, e anche bagnato perché così i colori sono più vivaci”. (B. Munari)
Ho dato questo nome ad una raccolta di legni masselli trovati sulle spiagge tarantine, del mio mare, a cui abbiamo applicato piccole modifiche per renderli a volte porta oggetti, a volte appendiabiti, a volte talismani, altre volte lampade. Progetto di ricerca in corso, con Paola Sabbatucci.

“You throw something in the sea, and the sea (after an unspecified and indefinable time) return it worked, finished, polished, shiny or opaque depending on the material, and even wet because so the colors are more vibrant.” (B. Munari)
I gave this name to a collection of solid woods found on Taranto beaches, my sea, to which we applied small modifications to make them sometimes storage, sometimes hangers, sometimes lamps. Ongoing research project with Paola Sabbatucci.
